SHREK THE MUSICAL OPENS THIS WEEKEND!

On Friday, August 3rd, the doors to the Flickinger Center will open for SHREK THE MUSICAL! Tickets for all seats are $12. Tickets may be purchased at the door or online at the Flickinger Center website. There are over 50 wonderfully talented people in the cast, orchestra and crew, all from the Alamogordo, Holloman, Cloudcroft and Tularosa communities.

SHREK THE MUSICAL is based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film that started it all. This live adaptation brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to the stage. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an ogre – not a handsome prince – shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey that does not keep quiet, a villain with a short temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand and his name is Shrek.

SHREK THE MUSICAL performances are August 3, 4, 10 & 11 at 7PM. There will be a 2PM Matinee on August 5. All performances are at the Flickinger Center.

Fast Forward 60 Years and AMT is still running strong!  The organization brings together community members from Alamogordo, Holloman, Tularosa and Cloudcroft. AMT is committed to creating a voice for diverse artists, to nurturing their unique voices, and to engaging our audiences. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre — not a handsome prince — shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won’t shut up, a bad guy with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude, and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand…and his name is Shrek.
