“Damn Yankees” Rehearsals Going Strong!

Rehearsals have been amazing for AMT’s upcoming production of “Damn Yankees”! Opening April 21st at the Flickinger Center, the cast has been learning staging, singing and dancing for the spring show. Based on the novel, The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant by Douglass Wallop, “Damn Yankees” the Broadway mega-hit and winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, hits it out of the park! The winning score by Adler and Ross and a devilish book by George Abbot have made this sporty musical comedy a true American classic. Don’t forget about the Broadway classics that come with this sporty musical! This show features the numbers; “Whatever Lola Wants”, “Two Lost Souls” and the inspiring song “Heart”!

Light, fast-paced and devilishly clever, Damn Yankees is a homerun hit, featuring all-American subject matter and an irreverent sense of humor. Damn Yankees is a wicked, romantic comedy, sure to please. Production dates April 21, 22, 28 & 29 at 7PM and April 23 at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time at the Flickinger Center or from any cast member.

AMT’s Avenue Q observes World Puppetry Day!

IMG_4340Rehearsals have been culminating in a fever pitch as AMT prepares for the April 8th opening of its spring musical: “Avenue Q”! What better way to celebrate a puppet musical than with World Puppetry Day! Our actors have been having a blast with the artistry that goes along with puppet work and they have a new found respect for the work that goes into it! It’s not easy!!

World Puppetry Day was first celebrated in 2003 and sanctioned by the Union Internationale de la Marionette. It was initiated by Iranian puppet artist Javad Zolfaghari and is marked by puppet lovers around the world each year, including the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, which this year will mark the occasion with events on March 19.

Make sure you mark your calendars with dates of “Avenue Q”! April 8, 9, 15 & 16 at 7PM and April 10 at 2PM at the Flickinger Center.

Rehearsing up a storm!
