AVENUE Q AUDITIONS BEGIN TONIGHT!

AveQ_Detail_Main_Image_Detail Main ImageFor those of you who have been anticipating the next Alamogordo theatrical production to participate in, the wait is over! The Alamogordo Music Theatre is pleased to announce that auditions begin tonight (January 18th) for their spring musical “Avenue Q”!

The laugh-out-loud musical tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that although the residents seem nice, it’s clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.

Filled with gut-busting humor and a delightfully catchy score, not to mention puppets, Avenue Q is a truly unique show that has quickly become a favorite for audiences everywhere. Although the show addresses humorous adult issues, it is similar to a beloved children’s show; a place where puppets are friends, Monsters are good and life lessons are learned.

Auditions begin at 6:30 PM at the Flickinger Center. Please have a short selection ready to perform. We will have an accompanist on hand and a player for digital and CD tracks. In addition, we will ask you to read a short selection from the play with others auditioning. For tips on a successful audition, click here.

Auditions continue on January 20th at 6:30 PM. Attendance on both nights is not mandatory. The two dates have been set up for the convenience of the performers in our community.

We are seeking dynamic, talented and dedicated actors and actresses to fill all roles. Please remember, due to the hilarious adult humor, language and themes in Avenue Q, there are no roles for children.

Don’t miss out on this amazing production. We look forward to seeing you soon! Break a Leg!
