The Alamogordo Music Theatre is eagerly awaiting opening night for it’s fall production of the “Rocky Horror Show”! The show rolls out on November 3rd at the Flickinger Center, with additional 7PM performances on November 4th, 10th & 11th. For those looking for a more traditional undertaking of “Rocky Horror”, a midnight show is planned for November 4th at 11:59 PM sharp!
Please remember, this is a live stage production of Rocky Horror, not a movie sing-a-long. Though aspects of the movie “Rocky Horror Picture Show” will be included in the production, the people cast in the show will be doing a completely live theatrical creation. What an achievement it will be! Fantastic dance numbers, brilliant costumes and dazzling performances will be staged from talent that are located right here in Alamogordo, Holloman AFB, Cloudcroft and beyond! In addition, Prop Bags will be sold in the Flickinger lobby with directions on what you need to do to turn yourself into a fully-fledged “Rocky Horror” fan!
Now, for those of you who are new to the story of “The Rocky Horror Show” we’ll let you know this: One fateful night, Brad Majors and his fiancée, Janet Weiss — a wholesome, well-behaved, utterly normal young couple in love — innocently set out to visit an old professor. A thunderstorm and a flat-tire force them to seek help at the castle of Dr. Frank ’N’ Furter, a scientist with a manic genius and insatiable libido. Brad, Janet, and Frank’ N’ Furter’s cohorts are swept up into the scientist’s latest experiment. The night’s misadventures will cause Brad and Janet to question everything they’ve known about themselves, each other, love, and lust.
“The Rocky Horror Show” is a loving homage to the classic B sci-fi film and horror genres with an irresistible rock’n’roll score. It is a hilarious, wild ride that no audience will soon forget.
