The Alamogordo Music Theater is always busy putting together new shows to produce for Alamogordo, Holloman AFB and the entire Tularosa Basin. But one of our primary goals is to foster fine arts education that enriches the youth of our community. One way we encourage this idea is by offering scholarships to area students. The Alamogordo Music Theatre has contributed in excess of 60,000 dollars in scholarship monies over the last fifty-eight years. Our undergraduate scholarships are forms of aid that help students pay for their education. The first of three named scholarships that AMT awards is the Don Fox Memorial Scholarship. This performing arts scholarship in memory of one of our founding board members, Don Fox. The Don Fox Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating high school senior at the end of the school year. This past year’s recepient is Janelle Hernandez (pictured above with AMT Vice-President Pary Bennett). Janelle graduated from Alamogordo High School in May of 2015 and is now attending NMSU in Las Cruces as a performing arts major.

The Don Fox Memorial Scholarship is being awarded once more this spring to an eligible high school senior. If you have an interest in applying, please fill out an application that can be found here. Applications should be accompanied by a letter of need and a transcript from your high school. The Don Fox Memorial Scholarship deadline is April 1st.
